FISHING CALENDAR

June
  • Chinook average 15 to 25 lbs.
  • Halibut average 20-80 lbs.
  • Fishing is good in-shore as well as off-shore.
July
  • Fishing offshore continues to be great with Chinook averaging 20 to 30 lbs. and some reaching into 40-pound range.
  • Coho and pinks runs continue building and by mid July there should be plenty of trophy sized in the mix.
  • Halibut continues to be great all month.
August
  • The season's largest Chinook are caught in August ranging from 25 pound to 60 lbs.
  • The large Northern coho move into the area.
  • Halibut continues to be great all month.
September
  • Large Chinooks can still be caught in September.
  • The Northern coho are still around.
  • Halibut continues to be great all month.
  • Coho start heading into the local rivers of Kyuquot Sound.

October 

  • River Fishing is at its best.
  • Coho are in all of the rivers.
  • Chum salmon are in the estuaries, and lower reaches of the rivers.
  • Chinook are holding in deep pools.

November 

  • Coho beginning to fade.
  • Steelhead Pick-up.

December  

  • Steelhead is good to excellent.

January

  • Steelhead is good to excellent.

February

  • Steelhead is good to excellent.

March

  • Steelhead is good to excellent.

April

  • Steelhead fishing ends.
  • Traditional Start of Spring Salmon Season.

May

  • Chinook average 15 to 25 lbs.
  • Halibut average 20-80 lbs.
  • Fishing is good in-shore as well as off-shore.

- 4 in possession

2 hatchery coho per day
- 4 in possession

1 Halibut per day
- 2 in possession

3 Lingcod per day
- 6 in possession

 

After September 1st

- 8 in possession

1 Halibut per day
- 2 in possession
